MSC Voyagers Club and Experience Levels
Updated for 2024!
This guide includes the latest MSC Voyagers Club updates made in July 2024, including the new Blue Diamond tier, the five-year point expiration policy, and refreshed bonus point opportunities.
What Is the MSC Voyagers Club?
If you’ve sailed with MSC before — or even if you’re just thinking about it — the MSC Voyagers Club is something you should absolutely know about.
MSC’s loyalty program rewards repeat cruisers with perks like cruise discounts, free gifts, and priority services. It’s free to join, and you can sign up even before your first cruise, which means you’ll start earning rewards right away.
The Voyagers Club is MSC’s version of a frequent flyer program. Every cruise earns you points based on your fare type, length of sailing, and cabin or experience level. Over time, you’ll climb through tiers that unlock better perks.
It’s worth noting that MSC also uses the term “Experience Levels” (Bella, Fantastica, Aurea, and Yacht Club) — these aren’t loyalty tiers but booking packages that affect your cabin, perks, and onboard experience. They often get confused with loyalty levels, so we’ll cover both below.
MSC Voyagers Club Levels Explained
MSC updated its loyalty tiers in mid-2024, expanding the top of the program with a new Blue Diamond level and adjusting point ranges for the others.
| Tier | Points Range | Typical Perks |
|---|---|---|
| Welcome | 0 points | Enrolled but haven’t sailed yet |
| Classic | 1 – 2,199 | 5% cruise discount, onboard welcome gift |
| Silver | 2,200 – 4,299 | Priority boarding, fruit basket, photo credit |
| Gold | 4,300 – 9,999 | Specialty dining experience, thermal spa session |
| Diamond | 10,000 – 24,999 | Complimentary dinner for two, priority disembarkation |
| Blue Diamond | 25,000+ | Highest recognition level with exclusive onboard events and VIP perks |
How Long Points Last
As of 2024, points expire after five years — a big improvement over the previous three-year policy. Your status level is recalculated annually based on your points at that time.
How Many Cruises to Reach Each Level
If you book a typical 7-night cruise in the Fantastica experience, you’ll earn 700 points per person. That means:
- Silver: about 4 cruises
- Gold: about 10 cruises
- Diamond: around 18 cruises
- Blue Diamond: about 35 cruises
(Those numbers can be much lower if you book Aurea or Yacht Club, or qualify for double or triple points promotions.)
How to Earn Points
MSC’s point system can look intimidating, but once you understand the basics, it’s actually pretty logical.
Base Points
Points are earned based on your experience level, length of cruise, and cabin type.
Bella Experience
- Under 5 nights: 200 points
- 5–9 nights: 500 points
- 10+ nights: 700 points
Fantastica Experience
- Under 5 nights: 400 points
- 5–9 nights: 700 points
- 10+ nights: 1,000 points
Aurea Experience
- Under 5 nights: 600 points
- 5–9 nights: 1,000 points
- 10+ nights: 1,500 points
MSC Yacht Club
- Under 5 nights: 800 points
- 5–9 nights: 1,500 points
- 10+ nights: 2,000 points
Each guest in the cabin earns the same number of points.
Bonus Points and Promotions
You can boost your balance in a few clever ways:
- Voyagers Exclusives: Book 12+ months in advance and get double points.
- World Cruise: Earn triple points for the entire voyage (partial bookings don’t count).
- Future Cruise Consultant Booking: Double points if you book onboard using an FCC.
- Prepaid Packages: Earn 100 points for every $150 spent on pre-cruise packages (like drinks, excursions, or spa).
- Bundles: +200 points for beverage package, +100 for internet.
- Contact Info Update: +100 points if you update your info 72 hours before sailing.
- Birthday Bonus: +200 points when booking within three months of your birthday.
- Early Access Promotions: Occasionally, MSC emails “Voyagers Selections” offers worth 700 bonus points.
When Are Points Posted?
Points are usually added within 10 days after your cruise ends. If they don’t appear, you can submit a missing points claim in your MSC account.
How to Keep Your Tier
You’ll retain your current level until your total point balance drops below the threshold when points expire (after five years). There’s no separate requalification rule beyond maintaining the necessary points.
MSC Status Match Program
If you’ve cruised with another line — or even stayed frequently with major hotel chains — you can bring your status with you to MSC.
How It Works
MSC offers a status match program that recognizes loyalty from other cruise lines, hotels, and even airlines. You can match your highest tier to an equivalent MSC level before your first cruise.
Steps to Apply
- Visit MSC’s Status Match Page.
- Fill out the form and attach proof of your current loyalty tier (like a screenshot or membership card).
- Within a few business days, you’ll receive confirmation of your new MSC status.
It’s one of the easiest and most generous loyalty matches in the cruise world — and it applies before your first sailing.
Turnaround Time
Most approvals happen in under a week. You’ll see your tier reflected in your Voyagers Club profile before embarkation.

MSC Experience Levels: Bella, Fantastica, Aurea, and Yacht Club
Now that you’ve got the loyalty program figured out, let’s clear up another area of confusion — Experience Levels.
These are booking tiers, not loyalty tiers, and they’re chosen when you book your cruise. Each level includes a different mix of cabin location, dining flexibility, and onboard perks.
| Experience | Best For | Highlights |
|---|---|---|
| Bella | Budget travelers | Lowest fare, limited perks |
| Fantastica | Families, first-timers | Better cabin selection, room service breakfast, flexible dining |
| Aurea | Relaxation seekers | Spa access, priority boarding, upgraded cabins |
| Yacht Club | Luxury cruisers | All-inclusive, private lounge, butler service, exclusive restaurant |
How They Work Together
Your Experience Level affects your onboard experience for that cruise. Your Voyagers Club Level is your overall loyalty standing. They’re completely separate — but both perks apply when you sail.
Example: If you book an Aurea Experience and have Gold status, you’ll enjoy Aurea spa perks plus your Gold-level dinner and photo benefits.
Final Thoughts
MSC’s Voyagers Club can feel complex at first glance — but once you see how the pieces fit, it’s one of the more generous cruise loyalty programs out there.
The 5% discount on all future cruises alone is worth joining, and when you layer in status match, bonus points, and longer expiration windows, the value adds up quickly.
If you haven’t already, sign up before you book your next cruise so you can start earning points immediately.
